We know that Michael Rubin, a professional propagandist, spreads blatant lies about the main enemy of the Ayatollahs in Iran, the People's Mojahedin Organisation of Iran (PMOI/MEK). However, I am baffled by why the American Enterprise Institute allows

someone like Rubin, a highly suspicious figure, to consistently violate ethical standards of journalism and promote fake news and misinformation against the MEK. Rubin's fake stories align with the misinformation campaign of the Iranian regime's Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS). As soon as Rubin's lies are published, various MOIS-affiliated websites disseminate them rapidly. Given the recent discoveries made by Semafor https://www.semafor.com/article/09/25/2023/inside-irans-influence-operation

which exposed the Iranian regime's operatives and agents working abroad under the guise of "Iran Experts," engaging in a pro-Iran influence campaign to impact US policymaking; caution should be exercised by anyone providing a platform for Rubin to spread falsehoods against the MEK and in favour of the Iranian regime. The disgraced Robert Malley, the former Special Envoy for Iran, had been the core member of the Iranian-run influence campaign. Malley has been sacked from his position and is being investigated by the FBI.
